Great Welsh Marathon becomes the first race in Wales selected in the AbbottWMM Marathon Tours & Travel Age Group World Rankings qualifying series.

The Great Welsh Marathon has been selected to participate in the seventh edition of the AbbottWMM Marathon Tours & Travel Age Group World Rankings qualifying series. As a qualifying race, participants in the Great Welsh Marathon can compete to earn a ranking to be invited to the 2026 World Marathon Majors Age Group World Championships.

The qualifying period for the seventh edition of the Age Group World Rankings runs from January 1^st to December 31^st, 2025. Next year’s AbbottWMM MTT Age Group World Championship will be held at the TCS New York City Marathon, with the 2026 championship location to be confirmed in due course.
