The Great Welsh Marathon has been selected to participate in the seventh edition of the AbbottWMM Marathon Tours & Travel Age Group World Rankings qualifying series. As a qualifying race, participants in the Great Welsh Marathon can compete to earn a ranking to be invited to the 2026 World Marathon Majors Age Group World Championships.

The qualifying period for the seventh edition of the Age Group World Rankings runs from January 1st to December 31st, 2025. Next year’s AbbottWMM MTT Age Group World Championship will be held at the TCS New York City Marathon, with the 2026 championship location to be confirmed in due course.
