A fast, flat course set on the scenic Llanelli coastline

Both races start within the National Closed Road Cycle Circuit, housed in award-winning Pembrey Country Park.

As a Marathon Majors Qualifying Race the routes offer a superb opportunity to achieve your personal best! With a maximum elevation of only 18 metres and an overall gain of 110 metres for the full marathon distance, this is your chance to shine!

Participants will enjoy running through the gorgeous green space and woodland of the park before heading out onto the magnificent Millennium Coastal Path. Runners will take in fabulous views of the Loughor Estuary and Gower Peninsula as they head through Burry Port, a harbour town famous for being the landing site of Amelia Earheart in her successful attempt at being the first woman to cross the Atlantic Ocean.

The half marathon runners turn in the coastal village of Pwll and head back towards the finish at Pembrey, whilst marathon runners will continue along the path through North Dock, which was the site for the major exporting trade of coal and tin plate from South Wales.

Next, the runners will pass the Machynys Golf Club, which was the first Nicklaus designed golf course in Wales, and was host to the European WPGA Championships between 2005-08.

The full marathon runners then head towards the halfway point, close to the WWT Llanelli Wetlands Centre that is home to thousands of birds and other wildlife, before turning and heading back along the route they have taken on their outbound journey.
